State-of-the-art scanning technology, a large multi-color display, ergonomic grip handle, and rechargeable convenience bring a new level of clarity and ease to mounting and installation projects.

CAMPBELL, Calif., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Zircon Corporation, a Silicon Valley innovator with a 50-year legacy of innovation and expertise in sensing technologies and electronic hand tools, today introduced the Zircon® Aura™ stud finder – a premium, state-of-the-art wall-scanning tool designed to help homeowners understand more about what may be behind the wall before they drill.

While many stud finders may indicate a stud is behind the wall, Aura™ takes it a step further, helping users locate the center and edges of wood and metal studs while also alerting them to other objects that may be present behind typical interior drywall. These other objects may include pipes, wiring, ductwork, brackets, fasteners, and other potential obstacles that can complicate mounting or installation projects and increase the risk of costly damage.

Most stud finders are designed to help you locate a stud. Aura™ is designed to give you a clearer picture of what else might be behind the wall,” said Bob Shortt, Global President of Sales and Marketing of Zircon Corporation. “By combining stud detection with visual alerts for metal, live electricity, and other objects, Aura™ gives users more information to consider before they drill. Aura™ helps take the guesswork out of your next project.”

From mounting a television and installing cabinets to hanging mirrors, shelving, artwork, and furniture anchors, the Aura™ stud finder supports a more thoughtful approach to everyday projects. Its large, easy-to-read multi-color display clearly indicates detected stud edges and center, while the red SpotLite® Pointer projects an arrow-shaped beam onto the wall over a detected stud for quick, precise marking.

The display adds valuable context throughout the scan. A blue indication alerts users to detected metal, while a red indication warns that live AC electricity may be present. Together, these clear visual cues help users assess whether a detected object may not be a stud and determine an appropriate next step before drilling, cutting, or mounting.

Aura™ also introduces a new ergonomic comfort-control grip that promotes easy, natural movement and steady hand positioning enabling users to scan horizontally to locate the studs first, then glide vertically along the stud, to verify clean, “safe-to-drill” zones. This verification, known as Zircon’s ‘Trust but Verify’ technique, helps users find and avoid metal drywall screws, nails, and protector plates that may be fastened to it.

A built-in USB-C rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery eliminates the need for disposable batteries, while a low-battery indicator helps users know when it is time to recharge.

“Aura™ raises the standard for what DIYers and professionals can expect from an advanced stud finder,” added Shortt. “It delivers the information, guidance, and comfort people want in a premium tool—so they can spend less time second-guessing the wall and finish their projects faster with more confidence.”

From locating studs to alerting to possible obstacles, Aura™ helps users verify their findings, and drill, mount, or cut with greater peace of mind.

The Zircon® Aura™ stud finder will be available Winter 2026 for $69.99 through select online retailers, and directly at Zircon.com. For product details, instructions, and additional project resources, visit Zircon.com.
