FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hasbrouck Heights, NJ – February 6, 2026
Shariawiz, a digital estate planning, financial management, and family planning platform serving Muslim Americans, announced that it has been featured in a peer-reviewed academic journal article examining how Islamic inheritance principles can be implemented within secular legal systems through technology.
The article, titled “Sacred Law in Secular Systems: Shariawiz and Digital Inheritance Fiqh among Muslim Minorities in the United States,” was published in Asy-Syir’ah: Jurnal Ilmu Syari’ah dan Hukum (Vol. 59, No. 2, 2025). The study analyzes Shariawiz as a case study in digital inheritance fiqh and ijithad, including the broader framework of fiqh al-aqalliyyāt (jurisprudence of Muslim minorities), and explores how faith-aligned estate planning can remain legally effective under U.S. trust and will structures.
“Muslim families in America often face unnecessary barriers when trying to align estate planning with their faith,” said Abed Awad, CEO & Founder of Shariawiz. “We welcome rigorous academic attention to this challenge and view this publication as an important contribution to the broader conversation at the intersection of law, faith, and technology.” Awad continues, “At Shariawiz, we are guided by the Sharia as an epistemology that produces knowledge, which is based on the American Muslim experience. From Family Waqfs (joint Islamic trusts) to Islamic wills to Islamic prenups and financial management tools, all anchored in the epistemology of Sharia, Shariawiz demonstrates that Sharia is not static but dynamic and relevant to modern Muslims.”
Shariawiz makes protecting family, preserving wealth, and fulfilling faith easy, accessible, and affordable.
