Grant Thornton Advisors LLC has announced that Grant Thornton Australia has completed a transaction to join its multinational platform of nearly 20 aligned firms across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region.
The deal gives the Grant Thornton Advisors platform an expanded footprint in the Asia-Pacific region by bringing Grant Thornton Australia’s 1,500 professionals and six offices into its ranks, which already include Grant Thornton New Zealand’s 300-person team. The result is something unique among professional-services firms in the region: borderless scale backed by best-in-class technology, client offerings and career pathways.
“This transaction opens a new door for our platform’s growth — bringing us the leadership, talent and quality we need to further expand our singular model within the Asia-Pacific region,” said Jim Peko, CEO of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC and leader of its multinational platform. “This is about building capabilities at scale across worldwide markets so we can move and grow with clients, while investing in the best technologies and creating even more opportunities for our people.”
The deal, which was first announced at signing in April, complements other recent developments that are helping the Grant Thornton Advisors platform break new ground in its industry. Notably, Grant Thornton Advisors LLC announced in July that it has entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which it will acquire CBIZ in the U.S. After that transaction closes, the Grant Thornton Advisors multinational platform is expected to span more than two dozen countries and territories and include more than 35,000 professionals.
Australian CEO, Said Jahani, to lead Asia-Pacific region
Grant Thornton Australia CEO Said Jahani will continue to lead the Australian firm and will also serve in a newly created role serving as CEO of the Asia-Pacific region within the platform. He will also join the Executive Committee at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, reporting to Peko.
In the new role, Jahani will focus on expanding the platform’s cross-border footprint, enhancing its services and overseeing the region’s client experience, quality, technology and delivery.
“The Asia-Pacific region is one of the most dynamic growth markets in the world, and we are building a platform with the talent, technology and connectivity the region needs,” said Jahani. “I’m proud to be helping create new opportunities for our clients and our people. Together, we’ll move faster, operate more confidently and succeed across borders.”
Jahani’s new appointment is effective immediately and reflects his proven leadership as a fundamental part of Grant Thornton Australia’s business for two decades. He has been the firm’s CEO since July 2025, and, before that, held numerous leadership roles, including national managing partner for Financial Advisory.
Jahani holds a master’s degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales Business School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Sydney.
Grant Thornton Australia will continue to be part of the Grant Thornton International Limited network, which comprises member firms in more than 150 markets worldwide.
